1929 Ford Model A PickupThe Model A Ford was introduced in 1927 but wasn't officially sold until December later in the year. It was Fords second market success and was a popular follow up to the Model T. Henry Ford was able to mass produce the Model T and by keeping options limited could go to the market at a better price point than his competitors offer lower/middle class people an option for transportation. He wanted to keep this momentum with the Model A but was only able to with his clever engineering team and a styling team led by his son Edsel. When you stop and think about how these vehicles were produced coming up on a century ago it is really truly amazing to see some still on the road. This 1929 Ford Model A Pickup is a great example of that as the entire body is the original steel formed in those factors so many years in the past. The body is painted in a nice Green with Black fenders. It still has its stock visor and pop out windshield. The bed has sliding in wood side slats which are easy to remove and put on. The stock chrome front bumper and split rear bumper have a nice shine. It rides on spoke steel wheels which are painted yellow for a nice contrast. It also has the single mount side spare.Open the steel louvered 4 piece hood from either side and you will reveal the stock 4 cylinder motor. It starts up and runs well. It is still a 6 volt system with a generator. The engine compartment and firewall are all painted in a pale Yellow which matches the wheels. It has a manual transmission and rides down the road just as you would expect from a Model A.The interior is in good shape and has been redone in a two tone Black and White vinyl. It has a bench seat and the door panels incorporate chrome hardware and storage pockets. The dash and some other interior components are painted yellow. It has the stock style gauge set up in a chrome bezel and a stock steering wheel. This cool Model A Pickup is a good early Ford and offered up at a very reasonable price. They are making any more of them so this is your chance to snag one up while it is still around.Add it to your collection for $15,500.00! Listing Source: Hemmings.com (2600567) - View on

1929 Ford Model A Sedan The modern definition of a rat rod is a custom car with a deliberately worn-down, unfinished appearance, typically lacking paint, showing rust, and made from cheap or cast-off parts. These parts can include non-automotive items that have been repurposed, such as using a rifle as a gear shifter, wrenches as door handles, and old saws as sun visors.A rat rod may or may not have extraneous decorations but will always exude a great deal of personality due to the imagination required of the builder. For consignment offering a 1929 Ford Model A Sedan. This car is boxed and channeled, has a DeSoto power plant, a drop axle front end, stainless brake lines, a Ford 9-inch rear, disc brakes, a coil over kit, and looks down and dirty. Some may say unfinished, others would describe it as rat cool.Either way, a mechanically sound wolf in a metal jacket rough looking sheep's clothing on the outside.Needing a finish off of the interior and possibly exterior. Exterior A Classic Auto Mall first with a wood framed roof insert surrounding a chicken wire stapled on roof, I assume serving as a temp roof until the eventual buyer has a chance to get the vinyl insert made.Back in 1929 they did not have the technology to make a solid roof, so inserts were commonly used, generally not in chicken wire, but vinyl!Remaining steel panels for the body have a light gray primer on them, and some have been smoothed more than others, so various states of completion for the body.No rust seen though, and upfront an all new aluminum radiator in the old style, flanked by a single glass-less headlight casing on either side.No glass for the box, and on back some vintage Caddy taillights, looking more like rocket tips than taillights, and these are Frenched into the rear bodywork. 15-inch Weld Rodlite wheels are on all 4 corners with 26x7.50-15's on front, and 255/70R15's on back.No fenders and sans bumpers this car is the basics. Interior Left up to the imagination of the next builder who will diligently take over and use this open palette to express their inner luxuries, or lack thereof, on the passenger compartment.A tall shift lever does rise from the transmission, and we know the driveshaft is included with this car as it sits in the passenger compartment.Otherwise have at it! Drivetrain A 330ci Hemi donated by a 1956 DeSoto Fireflite has undergone a total rebuild.A single 4-barrel carburetor is now atop, and a TH350 3-speed automatic is behind this mill, pushing power rearward to a Ford 9-inch rear axle. Undercarriage As noted, the build spared no expenses when it comes to the best of the structure and suspension. Here we see some of the fruits of that labor, with GM crossmember chassis engineering.Up front a 4-inch dropped axle Super Bell Posey Super Slider spring 3 bar speedway setup. There are also QA1 Shocks with a coil over kit and disc brakes.A parallel rear 4 link kit is on the back, as well as a rear Panhard bar kit, and more disc brakes all with stainless steel lines feeding them. Smack dab in the middle of the reconstruction phase with some of the dirty work already done, plenty of good add ons for the mechanicals, they just need to be buttoned up.This empty canvas, now rat rod can go from rough and tumble to sleek and sexy or stay where it is, and have her runnin' with some wrenchin'.Oh, and don't forget the interior! Classic Auto Mall is a 336,000-square foot classic and special interest automobile showroom, featuring over 600 vehicles for sale with showroom space for up to 1,000 vehicles. Also, a 400 vehicle barn find collection is on display. While the Ford Model T had been a market success, sales were falling after 18 years, and Henry Ford’s staff finally convinced him to retire it.
The new Model A was more stylish with beautiful, Lincoln-inspired bodywork, thanks to the unsung design savvy of his son Edsel. It was also mechanically advanced, with the engine providing 40 HP at the flywheel for a top speed of 65 mph.
As well as the United States, there were Ford Model A plants in the UK, Argentina, Japan, Canada, Italy, Denmark, Germany and France.
It became Ford’s second market success: over five million Model As were sold within the four model years of 1929-1931.
There were several improvements with the 1929 model, such as the more reliable generator, carburetor and starter drive. Twice as much horsepower, front brakes and shock absorbers were also welcome additions. It was the first Ford with a standard conventional clutch, brake pedals, gear shift and throttle. Even more importantly, it was the first car to offer a windshield with safety glass.
Also hallmarks of the 1929 Ford roadsters: optional rumble seat, optional wind wings, optional spare tire side mount, exterior door handles, the teacup-shaped tail lamp and the Twolite headlamp, making it the first Ford with a true high beam. This car has all these options.
This classic 1929 Model A has benefitted from a body-off faithful restoration. Everything is correct and no detail was left undone, with everything restored authentically down to the iconic Goodyear Diamond Tread black tires. The orange pinstriping is yet another example of the detail that the owner put into this car.
While the interior is authentically covered in gray vinyl, the rumble seat is adorned with brown vinyl provided by LeBarron Bonney, and both the front and rumble seat floors have correct black rubber mats.
It has won several local car show awards, including:
2021 First Place/Best of Class, Ohio Region Classic Car Club of America,
Stan Hywet Father’s Day Car Show
2021 Best 30s Prior, South Russell Police Charity Car Show
2018 First Place/Best of Class, Ohio Region Classic Car Club of America,
Stan Hywet Father’s Day Car Show

To see this iconic roadster, you would think it was just restored: no paint chips, no interior wear, and the chrome and undercarriage both look freshly done. The owner has driven the car approximately 2,500 since its restoration was completed.
Not only is this Model A historically significant, but it’s easy to maintain, remarkably affordable and easy to drive.
This lovely timepiece will give its new owner many miles of touring pleasure in the years to come. It’s ready to show and certain to bring home trophies as well as garner admiration.

1929 Ford Model A It takes a certain amount of faith to dive headlong into a do-it-yourself, traditional hot rod build project, especially one that begins with a basket-case shell of an old Ford.Faith that you'll find the parts you need.Faith that you can marry disparate - and sometimes ancient - components into some cohesive whole.Faith that the end result will not only move under its own power but do so safely, while looking good, too. Many of us have that dream. We know a lot of people with garages full of old parts. But not everyone has the skills and patience to put them all together. For consignment, in classic style, a full fendered Landau Sport Coupe rodded to excellence, old school through and through, a hot engine under the closed hood, and a beautiful burnt orange paint job.I'm behind the wheel and ready for the girl in the polka dot skirt to drop the handkerchief! This all 1929 steel car has had over $6,300 worth of maintenance performed along with a few modern touches on the safety end of things. The rest, I'm keeping you in suspense!Read on!! Exterior All 1929 rust free Henry steel covers this classic bathed in wonderful burnt orange.Gaps are looking good, and it reminds me of the days of yore cruising Woodward Ave and smelling the mix of racing gas and burnt tires.A chrome corral around the radiator fronts a closed engine bay and is flanked by chrome bar mounted headlights between the fenders. The front bumper has been removed, but is included with the purchase. It is all smooth and rust free, and of course with swooping steel fenders that connect by steel running boards.A swing out windshield leads the way up the tan Landau roof and on the back we note the rumble seat, a great place for insolent children or your mother in-law.Of special note, the rear window opens for nice flow through ventilation.15-inch chromed wire wheels in excellent condition are wrapped in good rubber and are showing off on all 4 corners.I'm all shook up. Interior Opening the small simple doors, tan broadcloth with simple stitching and an accordian style map pocket is covering the interior of the doors.Shiny chrome for the window cranks and door releases are seen within these panels. This provides an excellent threshold for the cockpit, which sports a tan broadcloth tuck and roll insert bench that stretches across the passenger compartment. This seat has been moved rearward to create more space for the passengers and below the seat is the switch for the underbody lighting, a Blaupunkt AM/FM/CD stereo and the master kill switch.Sitting proudly and rising towards the roof is a chrome t-handle shifter which is seen within an ocean of tan thick pile carpeting, and creates a calm sea for the seat to float in.Upfront, a full metal burnt orange painted dash supports a lineup of VDO gauges within the central chrome ''mask'' with supporting VDO gauges below.Fronting this beautiful creation is a tan leather wrapped LeCarra steering wheel and a VDO tachometer mounted into the column support. The remainder of the cockpit is lined with more tan broadcloth, and a shout out to the rumble seat area with another overstuffed cloth bench but nearly no leg room. You ain't nuthin but a hound dog! Drivetrain Tucked away between the louvered steel side panels is a 283ci V8 engine topped with an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and 4bbl carburetor. All this pushes power to the Ford 8-inch conventional rear axle through a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission.Just a clean, polished, well-done presentation.A hunka, hunka burnin love. Undercarriage As perfect as the topside with burnt orange painted floor pans, frame and rockers...solid as a rock. The original unboxed frame provides the support for the new transverse leaf spring, drop axle and kingpins in the front and in the rear, we see a 4 bar and coil spring suspension.Disc brakes are on the front and drum brakes round out the rear.Shorty headers feed spent fossils through Flowmaster mufflers on their travel to the rear of the car. Drive-Ability Upon lighting the 8 candles the blinged out V8 settled into a throaty idle...as it should be!This car accelerated forever and handled very well.Bias free panic stopping and a comfortable driver all around in tan and orange heaven... A classic rod looking like a classic hot rod, but with comforts of a nice interior, and classy wheels, and no dirt anywhere.Just the look is enough and with the power it has you will be more than satisfied to be tooling through your neighborhood, stirring up the dust and leaves on the suburban streets, shades of Woodward Ave, the arm dropping and going like hell!I can't help falling in love...It's now or never folks! Classic Auto Mall is a 336,000-square foot classic and special interest automobile showroom, featuring over 650 vehicles for sale with showroom space for up to 1,000 vehicles. 1929 Ford Model A Sedan When viewing a 1929 Model A you will notice on the hardtops, there is a cloth/canvas covering the top. There is much speculation as to why this is and there are basically 3 reasons for this.Number 1 is Henry Ford was cheap!Number 2 is steel was in demand and was used for wartime efforts, and 3 is the technology for welding such a large piece of steel did not exist, and even if it was put on, the road conditions of the time would have certainly quickly bent such a large panel. For consignment a wolf in sheep's clothing, in the form of a wild mannered looking Ford Model A sedan. An initial glance at this car and the first thing you will notice is its stance, high in the back and low in the front. Some chopping (3 inches) and shaving, (door handles, and bumpers), has gone on and now presents as a hot rod with iconic late 20's styling still intact.Grab your floppy hat, throw a toothpick in your mouth and let's go make some dust. Please note, this vehicle is titled as a ''Special Construction'', the Pennsylvania Department Of Motor Vehicles does not assign a model year to special construction motor vehicles, trailers, etc. Please research with your local, county, state or provincial motor vehicle bureau to ensure that registering and titling of this vehicle is accepted in your area*** Exterior This mostly original looking Model A is pretty much how it appeared when it rolled off the assembly line in 1929.Fiberglass and steel panels draped in black with a few inclusions, imperfections and touch ups retain all the wonderful curves of the Art Deco era.Flourish pinstriping in teal and plum draw your attention to the painstaking detail put into this build.Side covers hiding the engine, door handles and bumpers shaved, and the stance is awesome.Panels are straight and mind their gaps.A pristine front chromed radiator cover is flanked by equally nice chromed headlights.Polished 15-inch American Racing Hopster wheels are all around and wrapped with Hankook blackwall radial rubber, and we are ready to go! Interior Charcoal black tweed panels cover the doors, and these have a swoosh of gray running through the middle, chrome is on for the power window switches and a simple black vinyl arm rest .Dual black and gray tweed front buckets make up the seating and show with contoured bolsters and cushions.A sea of black carpeting floods the floors and covers the boxed off rear area with integrated speakers. This area could be used for seating in a pinch but is nowhere near as comfortable as the front buckets.Up front, simple black steel with more flourish pinstriping makes up the dash.In the center between the pinstriping work resides an outward reaching layout of AutoMeter gauges with gold bezels and antique white faces. Also noted for the driver's convenience is a tilt steering wheel column topped by a wood rimmed steering wheel.Fuzzy black broadcloth for the headliner dash top, and windlace areas...it's just all over on this car! Drivetrain A lift of the passenger side hinged hood, reveals a Ford 302ci V8.This blue painted mill has 4bbl carburetor on top and for the dress up we see chrome valve covers and an Edelbrock rounded triangle air cleaner assembly.A rebuilt in 2018 C4 3-speed automatic transmission is bolted on and sends power to a Ford 8'' rear axle assembly. Undercarriage A boxed frame seen in black supports strong steel flooring and a transverse leaf spring suspension in front and a ladder bar setup with coilovers on back can be noted.Disc brakes are up front, and drums on the rear and dual exhaust with newer mufflers and tailpipes is seen. All nicely taken care of and definitely totally rust free and structurally sound. Drive-Ability This car cranked alive quickly and took off with much the same vigor. It ran smoothly and cornered great. There is plenty of interior room, and due to added speakers on the boxed cover in the rear kept us rocking during our drive. All functions were operational at the time of our drive and the power windows are a much appreciated convenience. So how great would it be to pull up on a more modern-day car, and get the old HEY GRANDPA! wave, and you proceed to smoke the instigator, as they would remain totally unknowing of what's in store for them.A nice build accented with chrome and red, and a Ford V8 under the cowl, along with some chopping and shaving...yeeee hah! Cruisin Classics is proud to present this 1929 Ford Model A we just added to our inventory. This car was just recently completed for the past Detroit Autorama car show but is now being listed for sale at our facility. Every nut and bolt has been touched and either chromed or polished. It's finished in a beautiful ruby metallic red paint job sitting on a high-end TCI (Total Cost Involved) frame with tons of chrome goodies and suspension parts like rear coilovers, 9-inch rear end, traction bars, and more.. Powering this Model A is a 350CI V8 engine with tri-power Holley carburetors mated to a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. The engine bay on this car really sets it over the top being fully exposed and showing off all the horsepower that turns the wheels on this car. Stopping this car is a full Wilwood disc brake system front and rear. The interior tells the same story with this build. It's equipped with a custom interior with leather and vinyl including bucket seats with a harness to secure you in this ride. The color-matched and powder-coated cage also gives the interior a very nice touch. It also features a full custom stereo system that absolutely rocks when you crank it all the way up! Perfect for cruising around listening to your favorite tunes. We believe it to be roughly a $4,000 stereo system with all the speakers, amplifiers, and subwoofers.
